Have you ever been a spectator on a field where one of the athletes drifted from his lane to another and got disqualified?
Everyone has a lane drawn out for them by God and it is important that you stay in your lane so that you won’t be disqualified by the master. God told me “Stop comparing yourself with anyone. Stay in your own lane.”
We are called to be different, not to be compared.
God’s purpose and destiny fulfillment for your life is different from someone else’s own. Once you shift your gaze from your lane to another through envying, discontentment, running your own selfish desires, pursuing your own purposes not God’s own for your life, you will miss His destination for your life.
You don’t want to waste your time running another person’s race. It saps you of your time, energy, focus, sacrifice, and commitment.
Several years ago, the Lord said to me “Whatever I have given you 50 years to do, If you do it in 25 years, then you have done something wrong.” You are not to run your own schedule for your life but God’s own for you.
Whenever what we are running after is not about doing God’s will but making our desires, it will most often lead us to the wrong destination.
According to Romans 12:2, you need to start renewing your mind with the aim of focusing on your own life’s journey, having contentment with what God has given you.
Remember, another person’s race takes you to a place where you don’t want to be.
STAY IN YOUR OWN LANE!
